Naturally Nourished Avo-Rita
FOOD AS MEDICINE
Tequila as medicine? Debatable, but cocktails happen especially in the summertime and there are definitely better-than choices when it comes to alcohol. Beware of pre-mixed cocktails, especially the frozen variety which can be a sugar and carbohydrate bomb and leave you with a splitting headache! This Avo-Rita is a fun take on a margarita that combines the healthy fats from coconut milk and avocado to create a creamy treat while slowing down the absorption of alcohol. The addition of coconut water and lime plus sea salt on the rim helps to prevent electrolyte depletion that occurs with alcohol consumption.
