“Nutella” Hot Chocolate
“NUTELLA” HOT CHOCOLATE
FOOD AS MEDICINE:
Our hot chocolate has the decadent taste of Nutella without all of the artificial flavors and preservatives! When choosing a chocolate bar, always look for at least 70% cacao, like the Theo’s brand used in this recipe. The antioxidants in cacao exceed red wine and even green tea. Cacao is high in magnesium, which can help to lower blood pressure and relax muscles.
1 cup full fat milk, non-homogenized or raw
1 cup hazelnut milk
⅛ cup hazelnut butter
2 tablespoons cacao powder
1 tablespoon maple syrup
4 oz high-quality chocolate
Place both milks in a small saucepan over medium heat. While milk is heating, roughly chop up the chocolate bar.
Once the milks are warm, add in the hazelnut butter, cocoa powder, and maple syrup and stir.
When the mixture is hot and blended, add in the chocolate and mix until fully melted and combined. Keep on medium low heat and stir often until it begins to simmer.
